According to police reports, the incident took place on the M-9 Motorway in Jamshoro district when a group of armed men intercepted a truck transporting cooking oil from Karachi to Sialkot. The shipment was said to be worth nearly Rs. 2 crore.
Officials stated that the robbers arrived in a double-cabin vehicle and forced the truck to stop. The driver and his helper were allegedly restrained and blindfolded before being left at a distant location. The suspects then escaped with the truck and its cargo.
The case has been registered at the Nooriabad police station, and authorities have launched an investigation to trace the stolen vehicle and identify those involved.
The incident has sparked concerns among transporters and logistics companies, many of whom rely on the motorway network for moving high-value goods across the country. Security experts say such robberies highlight the need for stronger monitoring systems, better tracking technology, and increased highway patrol presence.
